The rain has cleared up and it's a beautiful, sunny day in Wellington today. We walked from Thorndon down to the docks and along the waterfront to check out the markets that we were told are on Sundays on Cable Street, next to Te Papa (New Zealand's national museum iirc). Well, Kate and I walked, the big kids rode their scooters and our youngest rode in the stroller. One great thing about living this close to the city is that the kids can get more opportunity to scoot than we had in Canberra. The kids scoot to school every day, which is much more fun than sitting in the car.
There was a P&O cruise ship in town and the weather was fine, so there were lots of people on the waterfront walkway and the tourist helicopters were flying in and out, so there was lots to see. The market was pretty cool, full of lovely smells and tasty things to eat. Our brunch was something I can only describe as an Indian kebab - butter chicken and some veggies rolled up in a pan-fried roti. It was pretty good.
We also picked up some tasty cheeses, including a Roquefort. I've never had it since you can't really get it in Aus, so I am looking forward to trying that.
